Big Bang Theory – Unaired Pilot

Die Mittagspause ist gelaufen, ich muss Big Bang Theory schauen und zwar den nicht gesendete Pilotfilm, der noch einen etwas anderen Ansatz hatte. Ich kann mich René nur anschliessen, als Titelsong “She blinded me with science” von Thomas Dolby. Die weiteren Videos after the break.
The show’s initial pilot, developed for the 2006–07 television season, was substantially different from its current form. Only Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons were in the cast, and the female lead, Katie, was envisioned as “a street-hardened, tough-as-nails woman with a vulnerable interior”. Katie was played by actress Amanda Walsh. They also had a female friend called Gilda (played by Iris Bahr). The show’s original theme music was also different, using Thomas Dolby’s hit “She Blinded Me With Science”.
The show was not picked up, but the creators were given an opportunity to revise the show, bringing in the remaining leading cast and retooling the show to its current format. The original unaired pilot has never been released on any official format, but copies of it are floating around the internet with various collectors. On the evolution of the show, Lorre bluntly admitted “We did the ‘Big Bang Pilot’ about two and a half years ago, and it sucked… but there were two remarkable things that worked perfectly, and that was Johnny and Jim. We rewrote the thing entirely, and then we were blessed with Kaley and Simon and Kunal.”

Der Qualitätsjournalismus Focus u.a recherchiert mal wieder mit brutalst möglicher Gründlichkeit und so ist es wirklich:
Wenn jemand in der Nazi-Zeit sagte, etwas wäre für ihn ein innerer Reichsparteitag, dann begab diese Person sich in Lebensgefahr. Das weiß ich zufällig.
Man verspottete damit nämlich den abgrundtief ernst gemeinten Protz, Prunk und Tralala der NS-Parteitage in Nürnberg.Meine Mama sagt das heute noch. Und die hält sich danach immer den Mund zu. Und zwar nicht, weil sie irgendwas Nazi-verherrlichendes gesagt hätte.

Worldshaker von Richard Harland

Es ist kein Geheimnis, dass ich Steampunk-Fan bin, aber da habe ich ein eigenes Blog für und das Thema kommt hier kaum zur Sprache. In diesem Fall gibt es aber mal eine Ausnahme und drauf gebracht hat mich der Kollege Chris vom Doktors Blog. Es geht dabei um Online-Marketing für ein Steampunk-Buch, nämlich Worldshaker von Richard Harland. Ich zitiere mal direkt vom Doktor:
Vorher möchte ich aber noch etwas anmerken: Die Damen und Herren beim Jacoby und Stuart-Verlag wissen wie man Marketing macht. Tatsache: Die Marketing-Anfrage-Mail von denen war die erste Email dieser Art, die ich bis zum Ende las. (Nehmt Euch mal ein Beispiel, ihr anderen. Ihr Werber für Kindermikroskope, Brettspiele, Medikamente (!) und Flugdrachen. So schwer ist das nämlich gar nicht!)
Ansprache, Thema, Produkt -> Alles passend und genau richtig. Daumen hoch von mir. Daher freue ich mich sehr über die Zusendung des Steampunk-Romans Worldshaker von Richard Harland. Danke, Jacoby und Stuart!
Besser hätte ich es auch nicht sagen können. So funktioniert gutes Marketing im Netz!

As a vision of the future, cyberpunk quickly became obsolete. As we entered a new millennium and the millennium bug (anyone remember that?) didn’t kill us all, the internet became a casual place where everyone connected through pastel-colored social media and paid their phonebills. Even cyberpunk godfather William Gibson, who predicted both virtual reality and the Internet in the 1984 novel “Neuromancer,” ended up writing about the present. It was exciting enough. In the face of web 2.0 we said our sad, but necessary, farewells to the future 1.0.
But the cyberpunk future was not dead; it had only moved South, without anyone noticing. Anyone except Dotse, that is. The 22-year-old was born and raised in Ghana, lives in the country’s capital Accra, and is a budding sci-fi writer

Bouffier und die Generation „Generation Cyber und Internet”

Jünger, weiblicher und moderner, aber nicht weniger konservativ soll die hessische CDU nach den Vorstellungen des designierten Landesvorsitzenden Volker Bouffier werden. Er wünsche sich eine Partei, die für Kontinuität stehe und ihre Stammwähler nicht verprelle, sich aber auch für die „Generation Cyber und Internet“ öffne, sagte Bouffier.
Ich werf’ mich weg. Generation Cyber! Da wollte wohl jemand mit Fremdworten imprägnieren.
“Jünger, weiblicher” bedeutet übrigens für Bouffier, dass er (58 Jahre) sich als Spitzenkandidat bei der Hessenwahl aufstellt.
